The Leathernecks finish 6th at Stampede at the Creek

MACOMB, Ill - Western Illinois Women's Golf team traveled to Elkhorn, Nebraska to compete in the Stampede at the Creek invitational at the Indian Creek golf course. The Leathernecks finished in sixth place out of a 9-team field, with a score +53 overall. WIU started round one with a score of 306. In the second round the Leathernecks would see their score drop to 303. In the third round they would finish the day with a 308 score. 
 
The Leathernecks were led by Katie Tanner. The senior had a three-round score of 223 that had her tied for fourth place. Tanner ended both round one and two with a score of 72. Round three she finished with a 79 score. Tanner shot her first career hole in one on hole 14 in round two. She would also knock down four birdies throughout the three rounds.
 
Kelly Wu helped the Leathernecks by finishing the tournament with a three-round score of 228 that had her tied for 16th place. The freshman would end round one with 78 score. In round two she saw her score drop to a 74. In the last round Wu would end up with a score of 76. 
 
On top of the Eagle the Leathernecks ended up with 24 birdies throughout the tournament.
