Western Illinois tennis opens at St. Ambrose

Leathernecks face the Bees on Sunday

The Western Illinois tennis program plays its first match of the fall season on Sunday, going north to Davenport, Iowa to take on St. Ambrose University at 4 p.m. The match will be played at Davenport West High School.
 
The Leathernecks return their top six from last season in Agatha Carbonell, Lorena Castellanos, Aina Cortina-Pou, Paige Grice, Lucky Kancherla and Maria Rybka. Newcomer Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza also joins the Western Illinois tennis team this season.
 
St. Ambrose has played five matches this fall, heading into Sunday's dual with a 2-3 record.
 
Western Illinois concludes the fall portion of the schedule on October 7, playing at the Southeast Missouri State Fall Invite.
