MACOMB, Ill.- The Leathernecks kept their conference momentum rolling in a strong fashion, shutting out the Tennessee State Tigers, 4-0, on the road in Nashville.
Western Illinois set the tone early by securing the doubles point. At No. 1, Mana Fawcett and Jessica Hess cruised to a 6-1 victory, while Chloe Routier and Nadezhda Petkova followed with a strong 6-3 win at No. 2 to lock it in.
In singles play, the Leathernecks kept the strength up. Chloe Routier led the charge with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1. Nour Gueblaoui continued her high level of play with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 3. Richardlyne Francois backed it up with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 to seal the match for the Leathernecks. With the match clinched, the remaining singles contests featuring Madeleine Whip, Jessica Hess, and Nadezhda Petkova were abandoned.
Western Illinois looks to keep the streak alive as they return home to take on the Lindenwood Lions on Sunday, March 22.
