Previous matchup: Western trails the all-time series 4-6 against Green Bay in a series that dates back to Oct. 22, 2000. The last times these teams that faced off was on Sept. 21, 2014, which ended as a 2-1 home loss for the Leathernecks. The all-time series against IUPUI is tied, as the Leathernecks hold a 10-10-1 record dating back to Oct. 2, 1998. The most recent matchup came last season, as the Jaguars visited Macomb on Sept. 12 as Western completed a 4-1 victory to extend their winning streak. Forward Amy Andrews scored two goals and Isabel Navas Rodriguez made two saves, as 11 total players from the current roster made appearances.

So far this season: After finishing 1-1-1 in three preseason games, Western Illinois is coming off a draw on the road at Eastern Michigan in the season opener. Amy Andrews scored two come-from-behind goals as the Leathernecks fought back to earn the 2-2 result. That matchup against EMU also marked the debuts for five new players, with transfers Sydnee Sagal (Drake) and Sarah De Gannes (Brewton-Parker) earning starts while freshmen Hana Daoudi, Olivia Heinert and Willow Bade saw their first action at the collegiate level.

Scouting the opponents: Green Bay is currently 1-0-0 on the season, coming off a 3-0 home victory over Chicago State on Sunday (Aug. 21). The Phoenix outshot their competition 17-9 and made seven saves to open the year victorious after finishing 8-3-6 last season. Like Green Bay, IUPUI is unbeaten, starting the season with two consecutive victories over Tennessee Tech and SIUE. The Jaguars face Bellarmine on Thursday before Western Illinois heads to town for a Sunday matchup.

Players to watch: Amy Andrews was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Peak Performer of the Week following the opening weekend of the 2022 season, the league announced on Tuesday (Aug. 22).

Andrews was the only Summit League player to post a multiple-goal match during the opening weekend, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw with Eastern Michigan. Both of her goals evened the match against the Eagles with her first coming in the seventh minute and second in the 50th minute, coming off assists from Leah Ahlers and Bailey Burlingham. Andrews' two goals moved her into the Summit League's top 10 list for career goals with 28, and extends her lead in the Leatherneck record book for career goals.

Leah Ahlers was responsible for the assist on Andrews' first goal against Eastern Michigan and is another Leatherneck to keep an eye on. A sophomore from Marion, Iowa, Ahlers is now up to 19 appearances in her WIU career and, including last week's matchup with Eastern Michigan, has made five starts with one goal and one assist in 763 minutes of action. Last Thursday's appearance was the first time she went for a full 90 minutes.

Sarah De Gannes made her first official appearance as a Leatherneck against Eastern Michigan, playing the full 90 minutes and earning praise from the WIU coaching staff. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, De Gannes played the last two seasons at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga., recording three goals and four assists last season.

What's next: Western Illinois is back at hom next weekend, hosting Milwaukee on Friday (Sept. 2) and Loyola Chicago on Sunday (Sept. 4). Kickoffs are scheduled for 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
