Tanner and Hooper Place Top Five At Lady Jag Invite

The Leathernecks placed fifth as a team to end the regular season.

CARMEL, IND.- Western Illinois women's golf concluded the regular season on Sunday (April 17) with the 2022 Lady Jag Invitational, hosted by IUPUI. The Leathernecks placed fifth overall as a team with a score of +40 over par (616) in the two-round tournament. Fans can view the full results here.
 
"It was definitely a chilly and windy Easter weekend at IUPUI, but we persevered through the wind and the cold both days," said WIU Director of Gold Lia Biehl Lukkarinen. This meet served as good preparation for conference wind play. Katie Tanner and Natalie Hooper placed top five with consistent rounds in the 70s."
 
Katie Tanner and Natalie Hooper had great performances in their final tournament of the spring season, both placing t-fifth with a score of +6 over par (150). Although Tanner shot better in her first round with a score of 74, she managed to jump up four spots in the second round to get in the top five. Hooper shot 73 in the first round, which included three birdies.
 
Riley Hansen also had a great first round. Hansen shot 73 in round one to end the first day +1 over par. She finished the invitational with a score of +9 to place t-15th.

Women's golf will be all in for its postseason tournament. The Leathernecks travel to Newton, Kan, for the annual Summit League Golf Championships from May 1 through May 3.
