Starr Adds Five New Faces

Ella Meyer, Hillary Estes, Kennedy Adair, Madelyn Norton, and Finley Westover join WIU.

MACOMB, Ill – Western Illinois Volleyball Head Coach Dale Starr announces five newcomers to the 2023 signing class. The Leathernecks will welcome Ella Meyer, Hillary Estes, Kennedy Adair, Madelyn Norton, and Finley Westover to campus next season.
 
Ella Meyer | 5'5 | Epworth, Iowa | Western Dubuque High School
Ella comes to WIU playing her last four years at Western Dubuque High School as a libero and defensive specialist. She helped the Bobcats to four straight state tournaments taking home the hardware in 2021. Being a four-time state qualifier is not the only award Meyer has brought home. Ella has won MVC Honorable Mention (2019), MVC Second Team (2020, 2021), All-District (2021,2022), All-State Honorable Mention (2021), Elite All-State (2022), 4A All-State First Team (2022), All-District Team (2022), MVC Player of the year (2022), All-Tournament team (2022), and was a part of the senior All-Star team.
 
Madelyn Norton | 5'10 | Dike, Iowa | Dike-New Hartford High School
A setter from Dike-New Hartford High School, Madelyn Norton, joins WIU. Norton, who had a successful prep career on both the volleyball and basketball courts, helped the Wolverines to multiple state championships in volleyball and basketball. The incoming freshman has taken home three first-team All-State awards, three First Team All-Conference awards, three First Team All-District, and two All-Tournament Teams.
 
Kennedy Adair | 6'0 | Macomb, IL | Macomb High School
Kennedy Adair travels the short distance across town to join WIU. The Macomb High outside hitter has already made a name for herself in Macomb. Adair has won two all-conference awards and was honored as a top 50 All-State player in her junior year. Kennedy brings a high school prep career that saw her finish with over 1000 career kills, helped her set and now hold the job kills record at Macomb High. Macomb has won two conference titles in the last two years with the help of Adair.
 
Finley Westover | 6'1 | Bourbonnais, IL | Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School
Finley joins Western Illinois as an outside hitter/right-side hitter. At Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School, Westover earned honors as a two-time Southwest Suburban All-Conference player. In 2022 Finley earned BBCHS MVP and AVC All-American honors. She was also selected to the Joliet Central Invite All-Tournament Team and the Moldenhauer All-Tournament Team. In 2021 Westover was named to the JVA and AVCA Phenom Watch List.
 
Hillary Estes | 6'1 |Nixa, MO | Nixa High School
Hillary comes to Western Illinois after putting up over 240 kills and over 50 blocks in her senior season at Nixa High School. Estes, a middle blocker, was named to the AVCA All-Region 6 (IA, IL, MO, WI) volleyball team and the second all-district team in 2022. Hillary does not just dominate the volleyball court as she is doing it in the classroom with two All-State Academic awards. She helped Nixa High School to a 29-8 record and an appearance in the District 6 Championship game.
