Previous matchup: Western Illinois and South Dakota State have played 17 times in program history, with their last matchup being a 3-0 Jackrabbit win on April 11, 2021.

Players to watch: Audrey Narine had a breakout game in the team's last matchup against Drake, playing 47 meaningful minutes. The sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has now made twenty appearances in her Leatherneck career.

"Audrey has worked really hard this year and her game finally clicked against Drake. She connected really well in the midfield next to (Bridget Schuler)," associate head coach Josee Primeau said. "If she can maintain this work ethic and stay focused she will continue to play well."

Kayla Turner has been an impact player for the 'Necks this season, playing 610 minutes through her first nine appearances – seven of which were starts. Playing off the right side of the defense she's provided one goal and two assists this season, one of which was the cross for Amy Andrews' game-winning goal against Illinois State.

"Kayla was a pleasant surprise this fall; she came in with such determination and has committed herself to outworking our opponent at all costs," Primeau said. "She is improving every day, and with her hard work she will do well this conference season."

So far this season: WIU women's soccer is currently in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten streak that includes six victories and three results from overtime games. It started with the 4-3 overtime win against Illinois State on Aug. 26, and the most recent result was a scoreless draw at Drake on Sept. 19.

Scouting the opponent: The Jackrabbits are 9-1 on the season, winning all five of their home games and each of their last four. Their most recent victory was Sept. 20, a 1-0 result on the road at Air Force. Maya Hansen leads the team with seven goals and both goalkeepers have a save percentage above 80%.

What's next: After Friday's match with the Jackrabbits, WIU women's soccer will travel to Vermillion, S.D., for a matchup with South Dakota. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
