Late First Half Goal Edges WIU, 1-0

Western Illinois returns home next weekend for the regular-season finale against SDSU.

OMAHA - A late first-half goal by Omaha (8-4-4, 8-4-4) edged the Western Illinois women's soccer team (2-11-1, 2-11-1) 1-0 on Sunday (April 4) afternoon.

The Leathernecks controlled the attack first by earning two quick corner kicks in the 3rd and 5th minutes.

Four different players for WIU fired a shot, with Maddie Hasken and Carolina Gomes both putting one frame. Hasken had a last-second effort in the 88th minute, but the Omaha goalie saved her shot.
