Andrews Leads WIU in 2-2 Draw at Omaha

Amy Andrews scored back-to-back goals as WIU and Omaha tied 2-2 on Friday (April 2) night.

OMAHA - Remaining scoreless most of the game, Amy Andrews netted back-to-back goals late in the second half to lead Western Illinois (2-10-1, 2-10-1) in a 2-2 draw against Omaha (7-4-4, 7-4-4) on Friday (April 2) night.

After not scoring in the first seven games, Andrews has recorded six goals in the last five games. Her goals came in the stretch of three minutes - 80th and 82nd. Jenna Lundgren picked up her team-leading fourth assist in the second goal.

The late goals forced overtime as each side remained scoreless for the tie.

Senior Megan Rasmussen stepped up big time as a foot save in the 103rd minute kept the contest tied. She ended with five saves in the series opener.

Natalie Nagle had a look to score the game-winner in the second overtime, but the Omaha defense blocked her shot.

WIU and UNO retake the pitch on Sunday (April 4) at 1 p.m.
