Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | WIU Athletic Communications

Bison Edge Western, 1-0

Western Illinois was edged 1-0 in game one at North Dakota State on Friday (Feb. 19).

FARGO, N.D. - The Western Illinois women's soccer team (0-3-0) was edged 1-0 by North Dakota State (2-1-0) on Friday (Feb. 19) night. 
 
Isabel Navas Rodriguez was tested right away in the series opener. NDSU fired a shot 15 seconds into the match and was stopped by the freshman. She ended with three saves. 
 
WIU responded ten minutes later as Amy Andrews launched a shot on goal and then earned a corner in the 15th minute. Both sides entered halftime tied 0-0. 
 
North Dakota State would net the game-winner in the second half at the 58-minute mark. The Leathernecks nearly tied the goal less than a minute later, but Natalie Nagle's shot was saved, and Jenna Lundgren's went out left. 
 
The Bison and Leatherneck meet again on Sunday (Feb. 21) at 1 p.m. inside the Dacotah Field Bubble.
