FARGO, N.D. - The Western Illinois women's soccer team (0-4-0) set its season-high with 17 total shots in a 2-0 loss to North Dakota State (3-1-0) on Sunday (Feb. 21) afternoon.Â

Ten different Leathernecks recorded a shot en route to the season-high performance. Both sides combined for 35 total shots and three corners apiece. Freshman Maddie Hasken led the effort with a team-high four shots, followed by Jenna Lundgren with three.Â

After both sides were deadlocked 0-0 into half, WIU nearly broke the scoreless game out of the gates in the second half with four consecutive shots and back-to-back on goal by Hasken and Lundgren. Newcomers Audrey Narine and Emma Brinkmann also had two shots each.Â

The host took a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute and extended it midway through the second half with a goal in the 71st.Â

The Leathernecks return home for back-to-back weekends series against Kansas City (Feb. 26 & 28) and North Dakota (March 5 & 7).Â
