Volleyball Program Update

Western Illinois Athletics will not renew the contract of head volleyball coach Ben Staupe.

MACOMB, Ill. –  The Western Illinois University athletics department will not renew the contract of head volleyball coach Ben Staupe, Director of Athletics Danielle Surprenant announced on Monday (Dec. 13). 

"We want to thank Coach Staupe for his four years of service with our volleyball program," said Surprenant. "We wish him the best of luck moving forward."
 
Staupe was named head coach of the Leathernecks in August of 2018. He went 16-88 in four seasons at the helm of the program. 

A national search for Western Illinois' next head volleyball coach will begin immediately.
