Summit League Announces 2022 Softball Schedule

The Leathernecks will play 21 games against conference opponents.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League announced its 2022 conference schedule for softball on Friday (Dec. 10), with the announcement coming as part of a larger release announcing schedules for multiple sports. Leatherneck softball will play 21 games against conference opponents across seven consecutive weekends. Each weekend will consist of a double header and single game matchup, meaning the team will play three games in two days.
 
St. Thomas will visit Macomb for the opening weekend of conference play, with games at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday (March 26), and 11 a.m. on Sunday (March 27). This series will mark the first time in program history that the Leathernecks and Tommies have played. Western plays host to North Dakota the following weekend (April 2-3), with official start times to be announced.
 
Western then heads on the road for the following three weekends, traveling to Brookings, S.D. to face South Dakota State (April 9 and 10), Fargo, N.D. (April 15 and 16) for a matchup with North Dakota State and then Kansas City, Mo. (April 23 and 24) to face UMKC.
 
The final two weekends will we played in Macomb, with South Dakota visiting April 30 and May 1, followed by Omaha on May 6 and 7. The series against Omaha is the final weekend of regular season play for the 2022 season, and the Summit League tournament is scheduled for May 11-14 in Brookings, S.D. the next week.
