SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Western Illinois University men's soccer goalkeeper Alex Flowers was named Second Team All-Summit League, the league announced on Wednesday (Nov. 10). Flowers made 17 appearances this season, playing over 1,256 minutes.

"We are very happy with Alex's progress in the second half of the season," director of soccer Dr. Eric Johnson said. "His decision making was very good and he put together a solid string of appearances to end the year."

- In his 14 appearances this season, Flowers made 65 saves with a save percentage near 70%; he faced a total of 197 shots. Flowers finished the season on a high note, allowing just three goals in the Leathernecks' final five matches and recording shutouts against Eastern Illinois and Bradley.

- At 4.64 per game, his average save total per game was the top mark in the Summit League.

- He was one of just six Summit League goalkeepers to record a shutout this season, finishing in a three-way tie for third most with two. The other two players to record shutouts played ten and nine matches, respectively.

- Against Louisville on Sept. 28, Flowers made 12 saves, which tied tied for sixth most in a game in program history.
