Matchup history: Sunday's matchup will be the first time Western and St. Thomas have played since UST made the jump to the Division-I level. Formerly a member of NCAA Division III and the MIAC, they joined the Summit League ahead of the 2021 Fall season.

Players to watch: Jenna Lundgren's strong run of form has continued into October, with the fifth-year playing all but three minutes in the team's last five games. She's currently fifth on the roster in minutes played this season (1,141), third in goals (three) and tied for the team lead in assists (two).

Another veteran player on this roster, Natalie Nagle has started every game this year and has played 1,160 minutes in her 13 appearances (an average of 89 minutes per game). With two assists, she is part of a four-way tie for the team lead that includes Lundgren, Bridget Schuler and Kayla Turner.

"Whether it's at practice or in games, Natalie and Jenna are both players who work really hard for us. They've been training well recently and I know they both want to come away with a result this weekend," associate head coach Josee Primeau said.

So far this season: WIU is currently 7-5-1 (1-3) on the season and coming off back-to-back losses against Omaha and Denver. 25 different players have appeared for the Leathernecks this season; 15 of whom have played in at least 11 matches. Lundgren, Schuler and Amy Andrews have all scored three or more goals and eight players have provided at least one assist.

Scouting the opponent: The Tommies are currently 2-9-1 and have lost their last seven games. Last weekend saw them fall 2-1 to Denver and 1-0 to Omaha. Lexi Huber leads the team with four goals in 551 minutes of action this season, and five different players have recorded an assist.

What's next: After Sunday's game, Western women's soccer heads on the road for a matchup at Kansas City. Kickoff at the Durwood Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 22).
