WIU Softball Announces Camp Schedule

| By:

There are three sessions scheduled across two October weekends.

MACOMB, ILL. – The Western Illinois University Fighting Leathernecks softball program announced its camp schedule on Friday, with three sessions being scheduled across two weekends at Mary Ellen McKee Stadium.

The schedule starts with a 10:30 a.m. pitching and catching prospect camp on Oct. 10. During this timeframe participants will learn the fundamentals of pitching and catching while partaking in drills that the team does every day at practice. From 1:30 to 3:30 is an offensive prospect camp, where attendees will learn the fundamentals of hitting while discussing the mental side of hitting. The second weekend, Oct. 17, has one session that starts at 10:30 a.m. and is dedicated to all skills.

"The goal is that every participant will be exposed to new skills that can immediately impact their on-field performance, and everyone can feel like they were part of our program for the day," head coach Alisa Goler said. "We hope to see you at Mary Ellen McKee Stadium!"

WIU softball camps and clinics will be led by the WIU coaching staff, including Coach Goler – whose softball resume includes a 2009 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the year award and three First Team All-SEC honors. The sessions are open to any and all, limited only by age, grade and gender.
