MACOMB, IL - Junior Payton Brown earned her 2nd OVC Player of the Week honor this season following a standout performance in Western Illinois' series victory over Tennessee Tech this past weekend.
Brown powered the Leathernecks at the plate, hitting .444 (4-for-9) across the series with three home runs, seven RBIs, and two walks. Her biggest moment came in game one, when she launched her second home run of the day which was a three-run blast in the sixth inning to give Western Illinois a 7-6 lead after trailing 6-4 that they would hold on to for the win. Â
Her clutch hitting and consistent production played a key role in securing the series win for the Leathernecks.
