MACOMB, IL. — Western Illinois Softball is inviting fans, alumni, families and supporters to step up to the plate and support Leatherneck Softball through the Western Illinois Softball Hit-a-Thon, taking place Monday, November 2.

The Hit-a-Thon gives supporters a unique opportunity to directly support their favorite Leatherneck player or member of the softball coaching staff by pledging an amount for every foot their selected batter hits during the event.

Fans can choose their favorite player or staff member, select a pledge amount of $0.50 or more per foot, and then follow along as their selected Leatherneck takes five batting practice swings. The batter's farthest hit will determine the final pledge amount.

How It Works

1. Choose your favorite player or staff member.
Select the Leatherneck softball player or staff member you would like to support.

2. Select your pledge amount.
Choose how much you would like to pledge for every foot your batter hits, with pledges starting at $0.50 per foot.

3. Watch them swing.
Each participant will receive five batting practice pitches, with the farthest hit counting toward the final pledge.

4. Receive your final pledge total.
Following the event, supporters will receive an email with the distance of their batter's farthest hit and their total pledge amount, along with a convenient link to make their payment online.

5. Make your payment.
Supporters can pay their pledge online or mail in their payment using the information provided in the follow-up email.

How Far Can They Hit?

The Hit-a-Thon provides an exciting way for supporters to follow the action while directly contributing to Leatherneck Softball.

For example, if your selected batter's farthest ball reaches the 220-foot center field wall, your pledge would be:

• $0.50 per foot = $110

• $0.75 per foot = $165

• $1.00 per foot = $220

The farther the ball travels, the greater the impact of your support!
