BEFORE WIU: As a high school junior at Effingham, was named 2nd Team All-Conference. In Senior Year, was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-Conference, and Effingham High School Hitter and Player of the year. Boone broke the Flaming Hearts' single-season record for hits with 60, broke the single-season runs record with 53, and broke the single-season stolen bases record with 49.
