Football Announces 2020 Recruiting Class

#NECKStUp20 welcomed 25 new Leathernecks.

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois head football coach Jared Elliott announced his 2020 recruiting class Wednesday (February 5), naming 25 new Leathernecks who committed in the early and regular signing periods.

"The majority of this class is done, 25 players, 12 guys on offense, 13 on defense. It's pretty balanced. We met a lot of really good needs, and we've still got some work to do, but I really like this group," said Elliott. "It's our job to get them here and develop these guys, get them plugged in and fit into our scheme, but right now it's just rewarding. It's a very rewarding day, not only for the players we recruited and their families but for us as a staff and really our entire university. We celebrate together in welcoming a bunch of new Leathernecks to the family."

The #NECKStUp20 class joins the only Football Championships Subdivision program to win the Grey Cup (CFL) and Super Bowl (NFL) this season. With the addition of this class, the 2020 campaign looks even bright for Western Illinois, who will return Missouri Valley Football Conference First Team selection Clint Ratkovich and Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-American Justin Hall.
