Dorshorst Pads Resume With Another Pole Vault Win

The decorated pole vaulter brought her career win total to four.

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Tia Dorshorst is padding her collegiate resume, and is on her way to becoming one of the most accomplished pole vaulters in Western Illinois history. She already sits second all-time on the school's indoor list, and another win Saturday (Feb. 15), brought her career total to four. 

Dorshorst vaulted over a mark of 3.71 meters to top the field of 24 at the Grand Valley State Big Meet. 

She has rewritten Western's record book several times this season, and her all-time showing also occurred at GVSU, but at the Mike Lints Open on Feb. 1.  Dorshorst also ranks third on the Leathernecks' outdoor pole vault record list with a 3.66-meter performance.

The GVSU Big Meet concluded the Leathernecks' regular season. The Summit League Championships are set to take place Feb. 28-29 on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne.
