Racking Up All-Time Marks

WIU track and field left the Mike Lints Alumni Open with two new all-time rankings.

ALLENDALE, Mich. -  The following recap contains the exciting news that Western Illinois track and field has once again risen to the occasion. Midway through the indoor season, when other programs begin to taper off, the Leathernecks are continually resetting all-time marks, winning events, and creating new personal records.

This is exactly what occurred at the Grand Valley State Mike Lints Alumni Open Saturday (February 1), where Bo Brasseur won her third long jump event of the season while also jumping to eighth all-time in WIU women's history in the 200-meter dash.

With many events including 25-plus participants, the Allendale, Mich., meet captured some of Western's largest fields of the season, but the Purple & Gold still managed five podium finishes and 17 in the 'Top 10.'

The Leathernecks' record book will also see movement in the women's indoor pole vault as Tia Dorshorst placed fifth in the event, but her performance currently ties for second all-time.

Western resumes its indoor calendar at the Mizzou Open next Friday.
