Leatherneck Volleyball Announces Summer Camps

| By:

Western Illinois volleyball will host three separate camps in the month of July.

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois head volleyball coach Ben Staupe has released information of three Leatherneck volleyball camps being held this July. WIU volleyball will be hosting a youth camp (July 9-10), skills camp (July 10-12) and team camp (July 13-14).

The youth camp, for kids in grades 1-5, is focused on fundamental training. The staff will break down the game of volleyball so the camper will have fun and understand the basics.

Western's general skills camp, designed for kids in grades 6-12, will teach and improve the technique of all six basic skills: passing, digging, attacking, setting, blocking and serving to develop an all-around player. Drills, competitions and games will take place in a group comparable to their individual skills.

The Leatherneck team camp is designed for girls high school teams as they prepare for their upcoming season. Teams will learn through competitive drills and competing as a team. High school coaches may coach their own team or a coach will be assigned to your team and will plan training sessions to address each team's specific needs. Head coaches must register their team first, once that is complete then the players on the team have to register themselves individually. The final day is a camp tournament.
