Shots Come At a Premium In Road Draw

Western Illinois set a new season-high for shots in a 2-2 draw at IUPUI on Wednesday (Oct. 30)

INDIANAPOLIS - In only the second overtime game this season, the Western Illinois men's soccer team set a new season-high for shots in a 2-2 draw against IUPUI on Wednesday (Oct. 30) night.

Shots came at a premium as 10 players recorded a shot en route to a new team-high in a game with 26. In addition, Enric Ferrer and Daisuke Otsuka led the WIU attack on four shots, while eight players had two or more shots.

Less than ten minutes left in regulation, IUPUI sneaked in a late goal to even things again in the 82nd minute and force overtime.

Tim Trilk kept the Jaguars scoreless in overtime with two saves for a total of five between the pipes.

In the 12th minute, Paul Kirdorf lined up for his second penalty kick of the season and gave WIU a 1-0 lead. The junior successful converted the opportunity for his second goal of the season.
