PEORIA, Ill.
– Nicole Beebe, Abigail Richter, Hailey Tranchitella and Lucas Lingle each garnered top-25 finishes in Friday's (Sept. 14) Bradley Intercollegiate. The Western Illinois women finished third with 109 points and the men took fifth with 149 points.

"We had a couple of good individual performances today, from Lucas running very well, as well as Corey Moody dropping some good time off his personal best," said Western Illinois head coach Nick Maas. "On the women's side, we had a bit of a rough week with sickness as six of the girls that raced today were still struggling with a cold. We need a little time to recover from this and get better. I still think that we are better than a year ago. Overall a good learning experience for all."

Lingle also registered a career-best 26:15.6 in the 8K to finish 23rd, the best for any male Leatherneck.

In the women's three-mile course, Beebe earned 16th place with a time of 18:07.7. Richter trailed right behind Beebe, taking 17th place in 18:08.6. Tranchitella ran a 18:17.3 for 20th.

Mackenzie Goldring (19:38.8), Jacey Roper (19:41.5) and Jamieria Stennis (19:56.7) finished 37th, 38th and 39th, respectively. Elyse Mathews (19:59.3) placed 41st, Kaitlyn Matthews (20:52.8) collected 47th and Nessrine Zbeeb (21:38.6) recorded 57th.

Following Lingle for the Western Illinois men, Lucas Howett's 26:54.2 marked 35th. Moody set a personal-best with a time of 27:57.3 that registered 43rd place. Ross Smetzer (28:35.8) and Alec Scott (28:40.5) finished back-to-back in 50th and 51st, respectively. Cameron Schroeder (29:02.6) picked up 57th before Quintin Thurman (personal-best 29:58.8) and Angel Yescas (30:00.7) finished consecutively in 62nd and 63rd, respectively.

Western Illinois next competes on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Minnesota Roy Griak Invite in Minneapolis.
