"It was a big day for the ladies, as we saw gigantic personal-records from several, including Nicole Beebe, who is now 4th on our all-time list," said head coach Nick Maas. "She is primed to be top-15 at conference with her current trajectory."

Among the Leatherneck men, Lucas Lingle crossed the finish line first in the 8K, running a 26:25.9 for 147th place. Ross Smetzer recorded a 27:38.2 time for 242nd place. Corey Moody (personal-best 27:57.1) and Lucas Howett (28:08.5) swiped 251st and 254th, respectively.

Alec Scott (personal-record 28:37.8, 266th), Quintin Thurman (personal-best 29:05.3, 270th) and Cameron Schroeder (29:24.5, 271st) also competed for the Purple and Gold.

"The course was very muddy by the time the men ran and we struggled a little, but they stayed positive and showed some improvement over a few weeks ago," Maas said. "I am really looking forward to seeing what this team can do at The Summit League Championships in a few weeks. We are beginning to look pretty good and I'm proud of everyone's focus and attitude."

Western Illinois next competes on October 27 at The Summit League Championships in Omaha.
