GAME 1 – Western Illinois 8, SDSU 4
Preston Church recorded consecutive strikeouts in the top of the first to finish off the Jackrabbits. Cord Church started Western's half of the inning by reaching on an error. Adam McGinnis lined a RBI double and he eventually scored on Johnathan Fleek's RBI single for a 2-0 lead.

SDSU got a two-out RBI single in the second to make it 2-1, then took the lead in the third. Matt Johnson and Philip Jacobson delivered RBI singles for a 3-2 lead. It was short lived though and the Leathernecks erupted for five runs in their half of the inning to take the lead for good.

The first five batters of the inning all reached and scored. McGinnis singled, Chris Tschida singled and Fleek was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Deion Thompson hit a 2-run double to centerfield then Roman Visintine lined a 2-run triple to center. Mitch Ellis' RBI single made it 7-3.

Visintine added a run-scoring single in the fourth to extend the lead to 8-3. A 2-out RBI single for the Jackrabbits in the seventh accounted for the final margin.

Preston Church (3-3) gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings of work. He walked four and struck out five. Connor Rektorski worked an inning of relief and Nate Westfahl blanked SDSU over the final two innings, matching his career-high of four strikeouts.

McGinnis and Thompson both finished with two doubles and three hits. Thompson drove in two and scored two runs. Visintine set a personal-high with three RBI, going 2-for-4 at the plate including his Summit League-leading fourth triple.

Nick Smith and Luke Ringhofer had three hits apiece for SDSU. Austin Kost (1-6) was charged for seven runs on seven hits in two innings.

GAME 2 – SDSU 13, Western Illinois 5
The Jackrabbits wanted to avoid the sweep right at the start. After Smith reached on a single, Josh Kunzmann hit a 2-run homer and Matt Johnson followed with a solo shot for a 3-0 lead. SDSU got a solo homer from Anthony Schneider in the third inning making it 4-0. The lead grew to 9-0 in the fourth inning following a four-run outburst.

Western began chipping away at the deficit, starting in its half of the fourth. Thompson reached on a line drive single. Ben Sellers walked but was erased on a ground ball double play. Steve McShane and Visintine walked to load the bases. Thompson scored on a wild pitch during Drew Galassi's at-bat, who eventually walked to load the bases again. McGinnis dropped a 2-run single into shallow right field, then during the next at-bat Galassi scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-4.

Western got another run back in the fifth when Ellis reached on a bunt single, advanced to second when Visintine was hit by a pitch and scored on Galassi's RBI single.

SDSU reliever Bryce Hanson (3-0) entered the game in the fourth inning and limited Western from there, not giving up a hit from Galassi's RBI single in the fifth to his single in the eighth.

The Jackrabbits added four insurance runs in the ninth for the final margin.
