Leathernecks Finish Seventh at Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate

Men’s golf concludes its final fall invitational of the year

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Western Illinois men's golf team wrapped up the final day of the New Mexico State's Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Tuesday (Oct. 17).

"We put together two out of three really solid rounds this week. Jackson, Trent and Drew have really been consistent for us this fall and I look forward to seeing how far they can take us in the spring. We need to get more help for them at the four and five spot. We have the talent, it's only a matter of finding the right combination and chemistry," said head coach Mel Blasi. "Jackson was terrific today. The pins were tucked and the greens fast and he was able to navigate the course beautifully. I was again very impressed with freshman Trent Snodgrass who played excellent for us all fall and really started to find his groove the last two tournaments. Drew has been great in round one of each fall tournament. We have some work to do, but this group is capable of some really good play in the spring."
