Western will look to bounce back against Auburn and Indiana State tomorrow

AUBURN, Ala. – The Western Illinois softball team opened the Tiger Invitational against St. John's on Friday (Feb. 26), where they fell by a score of 6-1. With the loss, the Leathernecks fall to 3-7 on the season, while the Red Storm moves to 5-4.

Western responded in the next inning when Aly Compton reached first on an error and advanced to second. A batter later, Kelsey Marlow singled up the middle to put runners in scoring position for Nina Maggio, who walked. Hailey Duwa came in to pinch hit for Sidney Bottino and drew a walk with the bases loaded to score Compton and put the Leathernecks on the board.
