MACOMB, Ill. - The Fighting Leatherneck men's golf squad is slated to continue its spring schedule this weekend with the 2015 NYX Hoosier Invitational. The Indiana University hosted even is scheduled to begin with 36 holes on Saturday (April 11) and conclude with 18 holes on Sunday (April 12).

A NOTE FROM HEAD COACH MEL BLASI: "It is always an honor to play in a tournament hosted by a Big 10 school. We are excited to be competing at the NYX Invitational at Indiana University. This is the most competitive field we have played in this spring, and it will give our players an opportunity to see how we stack up against some if the best teams in the Midwest."

ABOUT THE COURSE: While the championship golf course is rolling in places it is a popular venue for walking golfers. It is but a short distance from each green to the next tee. It is our goal to provide you with a challenging, but enjoyable, golf course through which you not only can test your skills, but improve them. We believe the atmosphere is unmatched in the area and intend to provide service to match.

LAST TIME OUT: The Fighting Leatherneck men's golf squad wrapped up play in the 2015 Bradley Invitational April 4. Western Illinois finished fifth with a 960 after posting single-round scores of 297, 303 and 305. Sophomore Andrew Blackburn finished atop Western's team standings with a 225. Blackburn finished tied for 12th and tallied scores of 76, 76 and 73.

PRESEASON POLL: Western Illinois finished seventh in The Summit League's preseason poll of league's head coaches with 22 points. The complete preseason poll can be found below.
