WIU Men's Golf Finishes Opening Day of John Dallio Memorial

LEMONT, Ill. - The Western Illinois men's golf team wrapped up the first day of the 2014 John Dallio Memorial (hosted by DePaul) Saturday (Oct. 4) at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. The Leathernecks are tied for ninth with a 627 (317-310).

Individually, sophomore Andrew Blackburn fired an even 72 in round one before carding a 74 in the second round. Blackburn's total of 146 puts him in a tie for third overall heading into Sunday's final round. Blackburn had six birdies and recorded par on 24 holes in his two rounds of golf.

Tied for 28th-place for the Leathernecks is senior Nate Davis who finished day one with a two-round score of 157. Davis tallied a round one score of 79 before carding a 78 in the second round.

Freshman Sean Miller and sophomore Carter Morrison were one stroke apart from one another. Miller is tied for 46th with a 163 (83-80), while Morrison is tied for 51st with a 164 (86-78).

Junior Alex Templin finished the opening day with a 169 (83-86) and is tied for 64th-place.

Competing as an individual was Tanner Ludwig who is tied for 46th after recording a day-one score of 163 (81-82).

The third and final round of the John Dallino Memorial is slated to begin tomorrow morning with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
