Men's Golf Fires Season-Low 293 in Final Round of F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

Senior Nate Davis finished with a team-best 222 after carding scores of 78, 71, and 73.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - The Western Illinois men's golf team concluded its fall season on a high note, firing the team's best two rounds of the fall season during the final two rounds of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. WIU finished with a 307 in the opening round, a 296 in round two, and a 293 in the third round. The Leathernecks placed 12th with a three-round score of 896.

Senior Nate Davis led the Leathernecks, posting a score of 222 and finishing tied for 41st. Davis struggled to open the event, carding a 78 through the first 18 holes, but bounced back with scores of 71 and 73 in rounds two and three, respectively.

Also finishing the fall season strong was junior Alex Templin who tallied his best score of the year. The junior finished tied for 46th place with a 223 after posting scores of 75, 73, and 75.

Finishing in 56th was sophomore Andrew Blackburn who finished with a 227. Blackburn improved his score in each round, hitting a 79 in round one, a 75 in the second round, and finishing with a 73.

Sophomore Carter Morrison and junior Austin Van Alst both tied for 60th-place after finishing with a 230. Morrison tallied scores of 75, 77 and 78, while Von Alst finished with scores of 80, 78 and 72.

Van Alst's score of 72 in the third round is a season best for the junior.
