Doug Arendell, 1992 - WIU track and field co-captain from Morton, Doug was a 1973 graduate who still holds the school outdoor shot put record at 61' 1". He earned NCAA Division II Championship honors in 1973 and was an NCAA All-American in 1973 and 1974. In 1997 he was inducted into the NCAA College Division Hall of Fame. Currently still competiting, in 2010 Arendell set a Colorado State record in the shotput for his age group. He will compete in the 2011 Senior Nationals.
