MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois cross country runner Mark Holt (La Grange, Ill. / Lyons Township) has been named Papa John's Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Monday (Sept. 16). The junior ran a personal best 26:13.14 in last weekend's SIU-E Challenge.
The junior finished eighth overall among 59 runners. Holt's previous best was 26:15, set last year at the Bradley Invitational.
Holt owns a 3.181 cumulative GPA while majoring in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
Holt and the rest of the Western Illinois Cross Country team have two weeks off before traveling to South Bend, Ind. for the Notre Dame Invitational.
