MACOMB, Ill. – Fighting Leatherneck volleyball senior Sarah Fetter was named Papa John's 'Scholar-Athlete of the Week' on Monday (Nov. 18) for performances on the court and in the classroom. The senior setter recorded 82 assists over the weekend, with 55 coming in her final match in Macomb on Sunday.
This season, Fetter has 1,098 assists which ranks fourth in the league. The setter also has posted 75 kills and 285 digs for the Purple & Gold.
The Moline, Ill. native has 3,215 career assists entering The Summit League Tournament, which ranks third all-time in program history. She has recorded at least 975 assists in each of her three seasons at Western Illinois.
In the classroom, Sarah owns a 3.248 GPA majoring in Physical Education K-12.Â
Fetter and the Leathernecks will be back in action this Friday (Nov. 22) as they travel to Indianapolis for The Summit League Tournament. Western battles South Dakota in the opening round at 3:30 CT inside 'The Jungle' on the campus of IUPUI.
