MACOMB, Ill. - The
Western Illinois Athletics Department and Prestige Communications is renewing
and expanding their partnership during the 2012-13 season. Every Leatherneck
football, men's basketball and women's basketball game as part of the
Leatherneck Sports Network will be broadcast live on Prestige Communications'
family of radio networks.
Leatherneck Football and Men's Basketball can be heard on
WJEQ 102.7 FM out of Macomb. Women's Basketball will be broadcast on either
WJEQ or WMQZ 104.1 FM.
Prestige Communications (www.prestigeradio.com) is a
locally-owned group of six radio stations with a variety of music formats and
talk radio, in addition to broadcasts of local and area high school sporting
events. The games can be heard throughout an area that covers areas south to
Beardstown, north to Monmouth and Galesburg, east into Peoria and west into the
southeast corner of Iowa.
"We are very excited to continue our long standing
partnership with Prestige Radio. Having our games broadcast on our local radio
stations is a huge bonus for us and our local fan base," said Athletics
Director Dr. Tim Van Alstine.
The Leathernecks open the 2012 football season at Hanson
Field on Thursday, August 30th, against Butler. The pre-game show begins at 5:15
p.m. (45 minutes prior to kickoff) with kickoff scheduled for 6.
