MACOMB, IL - Leatherneck Baseballs Liam Bushey & Leatherneck Women's Tennis Jessica Hess have been named student athletes of the month for March.
Liam Bushey has been named Western's Student-Athlete of the Month after an outstanding performance at the plate for Leatherneck Baseball.
Bushey led the Leathernecks' offense with a .342 batting average, going 25-for-73 across 18 games. He showcased his power in a big way, launching eight home runs and driving in 25 RBIs, both team-leading marks for the month. Bushey has been one of the driving forces for Leatherneck baseball this year.
Jessica Hess also received Western's Student-Athlete of the Month following an impressive stretch of performances for the Leathernecks Women's Tennis team.
The junior played a key role in Western's success throughout the month, earning multiple Ohio Valley Conference Doubles Player of the Week honors. Her consistent excellence in doubles competition helped set the tone for the Leathernecks throughout conference play.
