MACOMB, Ill. - Several Leathernecks will compete in their last home meet in a Western Illinois uniform on Saturday (January 28). The dual meet against Milwaukee is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Brophy Pool following a Senior Day presentation at 12:30 p.m.
Six seniors will be recognized including Jack Killheffer, Braydon Rudy, Shawn Fitzpatrick, Jamie Grau, Amanda Hurd and Jessica Schnaiter.
The Leathernecks will be challenged by tough Panther squads, as the men are currently undefeated in dual meet competition this year (8-0) and the women have compiled a record of 6-3.
"They'll bring in a tough team," head coach Greg Naumann said. "It's going to be another tough battle that our men's and women's teams have to go into. We have some people that are starting to rest a little bit and starting to feel a bit better. Overall, the teams should be feeling good and I expect to see times start to drop."
In competition last week, 27 Leathernecks recorded top times or scores in their respective events. Freshman diver Doug Ogilvie earned Summit League Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honors after turning in conference-wide top scores in One-Meter and Three-Meter events. His efforts in the One-Meter qualified him for NCAA Zones.
