MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois forward Sadie Webb (Emporia, Kan./Independence C.C.) has been named as the Papa John's Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her performance on the court and in the classroom.
Webb scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Fighting Leathernecks to a 68-66 win over North Dakota State this past Saturday. She also scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down eight boards against IPFW on Jan. 10.
The junior currently leads the team in scoring (10.4 ppg) and ranks second in field goal percentage (.446). Over the past two games, Webb has averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting a combined 14-for-25 (.560) from the floor.
In the classroom, Webb carries an impressive 3.912 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major. She is the second women's basketball player to win the award this year, joining teammate Michele Salvatori (Nov. 29).
