The Western Illinois women's soccer team will be back in action with two matches this weekend including its first home match since the 2010 regular-season opener
The Fighting
Leathernecks (1-3-1) will play host to SIU-Edwardsville (4-0-0) at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 before heading to Davenport, Iowa to take on St. Ambrose (2-2-0) at 1 p.m. on Sunday. St. Ambrose will face Illinois Institute of Technology on Friday before the Leathernecks come calling.
Western picked up a 3-1 victory over St. Ambrose when the teams last met on Sept. 20, 2009 in Davenport. Jill Kevorkian scored twice in the contest as the Leathernecks tallied all three goals in the first eight minutes of the match.

Green Moves Up the Ranks
Western Illinois defender Jenny Green continues to move up the career scoring list for the Leathernecks. Green scored the eighth goal of her career against South Dakota on Monday to move her into a tie for tenth on the all-time goals scored list. The senior captain has tallied 20 points in her career, putting her six points away from cracking the team's all-time career-scoring list.
Walsh Separates from Field
Leatherneck goalkeeper Jessica Walsh moved into sole possession of fourth place in program history with eight career victories. Walsh made two saves to help Western to a 1-0 victory over Grand View last Friday. It was also the first shutout of her career.
Returning Home
The Leathernecks will return home on Friday after playing four straight matches on the road. Western will play five of its first seven matches away from Macomb this season and will be on the road a total of 11 times. Western is 17-6-3 in home matches under head coach Tony Guinn.
