Practice 1 ? Saturday, March 28

Contrary to what the weather might feel like, the Western Illinois football team kicked off its spring season with their first practice, participating in helmet-only workouts. Complete coverage

Practice 2 ? Monday, March 30

The Leathernecks held their second Spring workout Monday afternoon, this time under overcast skies and falling temperatures. The second helmets-only workout was more of a traditional no-pads workout, as Saturday' schedule was adjusted due to the cold temperatures, and included the installation of more of the offensive and defensive playbooks. Complete coverage

Practice 3 ? Wednesday, April 1

Following two helmets-only sessions, the Leathernecks held their first Spring workout in full pads Wednesday afternoon. Bright sunshine and warmer temperatures added to the enthusiasm of the seasons' first full-contact practice. Complete coverage

Practice 4 ? Friday, April 3

As the first full week of spring camp nears its end, the Leathernecks practiced in full pads again for nearly two and a half hours. The energy level was high on a bright Friday afternoon in anticipation of Saturday morning's first scrimmage of the spring. Complete coverage

Scrimmage 1 ? Saturday, April 4

The offense improved its ball security over yesterday's practice, not turning the ball over a single time, but the defense held them without a touchdown during today's 72-play live scrimmage that featured the one's versus one's and two's versus two's for 12 six-play sets to close out the first week of spring practice. Complete coverage

Practice 6 ? Monday, April 6

Week two of spring ball got underway Monday afternoon despite temperatures of 40 degrees at best and a strong breeze that made it feel more like a Saturday in the fall.  Complete coverage

Practice 7 ? Wednesday, April 8

The Leathernecks held practice number seven under ideal conditions Wednesday afternoon, getting in a full two and a half hours of work as the intensity reached its highest level yet at the halfway point of spring ball. Complete coverage

Practice 8 ? Friday, April 10

Friday's practice was held inside Brophy Hall due to a heavy morning rain that left standing water on the practice fields.

Practice 9 ? Wednesday, April 15

Mother Nature provided the best conditions yet for practice number nine Wednesday afternoon, as the Leathernecks returned outdoors for the first time in a week. Rain last week forced Friday's practice into Brophy Hall and canceled Saturday's scrimmage as well as Monday's practice this week, meaning the players have put full pads on since last Wednesday. Complete coverage

Practice 10 ? Thursday, April 16

Ideal conditions greeted the Leathernecks again for practice number 10 Thursday afternoon, which was held 30 minutes later than most practices this spring due to class conflicts. Complete coverage

Scrimmage 2 ? Friday, April 17

On the warmest day of the spring, the Leathernecks held an abbreviated scrimmage to close out the third week of spring ball. Complete coverage

Practice 12 ? Monday, April 20

Wet field conditions caused by heavy weekend rains forced practice #12 to be held in Brophy Hall Monday afternoon. The workout served as the last of three helmets-only sessions of the spring. Wednesday and Friday afternoon will consist of full workouts outdoors in preparation for Saturday's annual spring game.

Practice 13 ? Wednesday, April 22

In the middle of their busiest, and last, week of spring ball, the Leathernecks held workout number 13 under clear skies and 70-degree temperatures Wednesday afternoon. It was a stark contrast to the first two days of the week, including Monday when the team was forced inside. Complete coverage
