He matched a career high with seven points and also added a rebound, two assists and a steal in nine minutes off the bench.? Postgame quotes from Western Illinois head coach Derek Thomas:?I told our guys that I see two main differences between us and Oral Roberts. First, they have four or five guys who are fifth-year seniors and they have four or five guys who are 220-plus pounds. And on top of that they are more hungry right now. They have a bad taste in their mouth after what happened in the tournament last year so they?re playing with a chip on their shoulders.?On cutting the deficit to seven in the second half:?I thought we were better than them in certain phases. We came out and played excellent in the first part of the second half. They are just a very big, very physical team. We made a couple of mistakes, took some bad shot selections and they had some putbacks and some hustle points to get their lead back.??We went big, but they just went bigger. So we tried to go smaller and faster and we were able to push it and get good transitions as a result. But as a result we gave up some second and third shots. Our bench did a solid job attacking the basket and that got their big guys a little tired. We were just lacking that third guy in the scoring column.?On the rebounding margin:?They?re bodies were big. Scott (Sutton) does a good job of teaching them position and how to use their bodies. We need to get more physical. We tried to do that by starting a bigger lineup.?On Eze Samuel:?He?s such a physical player and he was allowed to play that way. Unfortunately, he was the only one with the body to bang around down there with them.?On Caleb Green:?You have to give him a lot of credit. He has added a lot to his arsenal since we saw him last year. You have to bring a different aspect to your game each year. He?s added 15 pounds and now he has a 10-12 footer which he didn?t have last year. He?s just a great example of someone who takes the summer seriously and comes back a better player.?
