You saw the good, the bad and the ugly of both teams,? said fourth-year head coach Kym McKay. ?We started off every game slow and found ourselves in a hole at the beginning of each game. However, we fought back in all four of those situations, yet we struggled finishing games one and four. We had solid play and solid contribution from every player on the court, but the match result just didn?t go our way because we couldn?t bring all of our contributions together.?Trimpe was one of three Western players to finish the match with double-digit kills. She notched a career-high 10 kills in her record setting night, and sophomore Ashley Baker matched her season-high 19 kills in the loss. Senior Jenna Yurs added 11 kills and a match-high six blocks. Ashley Vance dished out 43 assists, and Gillian Falknor added 29 digs in Bradley?s defensive efforts. ?This was our second home match in a row with a great turnout from the crowd and an exciting atmosphere that the Western Illinois band brings to the home court. Our home season has just one match remaining, and we?ll all be looking forward to coming home to this volleyball environment,? added McKay.Western will return to Mid-Con action with a Saturday evening visit to Mid-Con opponent UMKC.
