MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University placed four student-athletes on Don Hansen?s Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team, including junior defensive lineman Mike O?Brien who earned a selection to the Third Team.O?Brien, who earned honorable mention honors in 2001, led the Leathernecks in tackles-for-loss for the second consecutive year, recording 11 TFL?s for -53 yards. He also tallied four sacks, second-most on the team, for a team-best -35 yards. He recorded 43 total tackles and led the team with three forced fumbles. Senior linebacker Jason McWilliams and junior linebacker Lee Russell, along with senior punter Mike Scifres, were each named to the preseason honorable mention All-American list. All three players finished the 2001 campaign as Football Gazette All-America honorable mention selections.- western illinois football -
