Two Sign NLIs for Leatherneck Basketball

Western will welcome Elijah Jones (South Holland, Ill.) and Since McMahon (Indianapolis, Ind.) to its 2020-21 roster.

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois men's basketball team saw two ink National Letters of Intent this past week in Elijah Jones (Nov. 13) and Sincere McMahon (Nov. 14).
 
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall, Jones joins the Leathernecks from South Holland, Ill., where he is a senior at Marian Catholic High School. 
 
In his junior year, he averaged 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds, and a year prior, he helped lead Marian to a third-place finished in the IHSA State Finals. Jones plays on the summer circuit with Team RWA.
 
He is the son of Malik and Pamela Jones.
 
"Elijah is a versatile guard that can defend and play multiple positions. He has the ability and athleticism to impact the game in many ways," said head coach Billy Wright. 
 
The Leathernecks will have siblings on their 2020-21 roster, as McMahon joins his older brother, Anthony Jones. McMahon is a sharp-shooting guard from Indianapolis, Ind., enjoying his senior year at Attucks High School.
 
This past year, he averaged 16.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He is the son of Demetrius and Janelle McMahon.
 
"Sincere is a tough point guard that can make plays for himself and others," said Wright. "He is an all-state candidate who understands the work ethic needed to be successful.

"Both are solid young men that in with our ALLIN philosophy and University core values."
 
The Leathernecks have a week-long break before returning to play Wednesday (Nov. 20) against Northern Illinois.
