WIU Indoor All-Time Mark: DMR (10th / 12:33.31)
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-time letterwinner in cross country and track and field, Roper joins Western as the school record holder in the indoor and outdoor 1,600, as well as the indoor and outdoor 800. She is a three-time South Central Conference title winner in the 800 and a two-time sectional champ in the event. In cross country she is a four-time All-Conference runner, qualifying for State individually in 2014 before qualifying as a team in 2015. She set a PR at State to earn All-State honors, while also being named the Alton Road Runner Athlete of the Year and the Atlon Telegraph Grils Co-Runner of the Year.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Rich and Cheri Roper… Born on August 26, 1998 in Springfield, Ill… Emma Coburn is an athlete she admires because “She is so talented and I love to watch her race”… Hobbies are running and reading… Favorite professional sports teams are the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts… Favorite musical act is Taylor Swift… Majoring in Early Childhood Education.
