HIGH SCHOOL: Alyssa Johnson attended Washington Community High School and lettered in cross country, track and basketball. She was a cross country team captain her senior year and led the team to a 1st place finish at sectionals and advanced to state. During track, she was 1st team All-Conference two years in a row in the 4x800, placed 2nd All-Conference and 2nd at sectionals. She won state her junior and senior year in the 800 and 4x800. Johnson was named MVP her junior and senior year and served as team captain both of those years.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Don and Kim Johnson... born June 12, 1994... her father Don Johnson ran and set records at Eastern Illinois and has coached Alyssa since 5th grade.
