Natalie Richardson joined Western Illinois cross country, track and field in August 2014 as a graduate assistant coach. She asssists with the coaching of the men's and women's cross country teams as well as the distance events for track.
In her first season Richardson assisted in guiding four Leathernecks to the NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country meet in Peoria, Illinois. She also assisted in hosting the 2015 Lee Calhoun Invitiational and the 2015 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships.Â
In college, Richardson was a four-year varsity cross country runner at Hiram College in Ohio, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. The McConnelsville, Ohio native helped Hiram earn USTFCCCAA All-Academic Team Status, tying for 17th place nationally. She was named co-captain her senior year and and received the Terrier Award for 'Outstanding Academic and Athletic Performance'.Â
"I am excited to be working with Coach Stevenson and Coach Peterson," said Richardson. "Â I want to help build the running programs back up to the level they were at in the past."
Prior to her arrival at Western, the distance specialist worked at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio as an Admissions Coordinator, and is now pursuing her Masters Degree in Communication.
