Western Illinois University Athletics

Mason Tangen is currently a graduate assistant coach with the Track and Field team at Western Illinois. He works with the throwers and multi-event student-athletes.

Tangen graduated from St. Ambrose in December 2010 with bachelor's degrees in Sports Management and Marketing. While at St. Ambrose he was a member of the football team for one year and track team for two years. He served as a team captain his senior year. Tangen also has coaching experience with junior high football and wrestling. He coached high school track for a year in the throwing events, as well.

He is currently pursuing his maste'rs degree in Sport Management from Western and plans to graduate in May 2013.
