Kristen Hawkins joins the Fighting Leatherneck softball staff following a four-year playing career at Virginia and a two-year graduate assistant coaching position at Midwestern State in Texas.
Hawkins was a member of the Cavalier's first-ever NCAA Tournament team in 2010, and compiled 148 starts with 21 doubles, 13 home runs, and 57 RBIs during her career. In 2012, Hawkins set a single-season record by drawing 13 hit by pitches, and finished second all-time at Virginia with 25. Hawkins graduated from Virginia in 2013 with a degree in sociology.
As an assistant coach with the Mustangs of Midwestern State, Hawkins was responsible for coaching the catchers and assisted with infield and outfield duties. She was also in charge of coordinating camps, recruiting visits, and assisted with day-to-day operations. Hawkins graduated in 2015 with a Master of Education in Sport Administration.
A native of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, Hawkins has also worked at USA Preps Elite Softball Camps, Patrick Murphy Softball School Camps, and Eileen Schmidt Softball Camps.
